July 2025……………………………………………..11th July. They said I wouldn’t put any weight on till after a year or so, weighed myself today and I’ve put on 2kg. They said I’d be off work for 3 months, I was back in 6 weeks. They said it would be 3 – 6 months before I could start light training, I was back boxing after 10 weeks and running a 5km after 13 weeks. I hate being told what I can and can’t do, like a red rag to a bull!
June 2025…………………………………………….9th June. I’m doing the the LCW 5k to raise money for H.O.P.E, they are a charity that are based in Neyland, they run oxygen therapy and physical therapy in the centre, primarily for MS clients and also other neurological and health conditions….
This is where I come in , I was diagnosed with cancer in September and after chemo I had a life altering operation in March… I was really struggling after op and had fatigue from just making a coffee or a walk in the garden, but since using the services that H.O.P.E provide my recovery has been a lot better than I thought …I know 5k isn’t far but it was only 12 weeks ago I was literally cut in half to save my life …any donations would be greatly appreciated as I’d like to give something back to a great charity that helps people who really need it

May 2025……………………………………………..2nd May. Two weeks back in work and I got to cut my little dudes hair 🤟✂️💈 Over the next few weeks I’ll be opening my books more and more, it’s time to get the folks of Tenby looking sharp again 😍
April 2025…………………………………………….27th April. I would just like to say it was great to be back in work last week seeing some familiar faces

April 2025…………………………………………….19th April. Our barber Sam will be coming back to work after his surgery from Tuesday , he will only be working part time , 2 or 3 cuts a day untill he builds his strength back up , he is fully booked next week but has opened his books up for the following weeks 
March 2025………………………………………….25th March. CUSTOMER NOTICE… As so many people asking I will give a little update.. my bro Sam is out of hospital and recovering well the man’s an absolute warrior what he’s been through 
he’s expecting to be back part time in the next month or so all being well … in the meantime I have been rammed with many messages asking about cancellations and I can only do so much in a day myself.. please be proactive on booking for the week ahead as this weeks already full … Thank you so much for your patience understanding support in this difficult time and everybody who has been asking about my brother all appreciated .. November 2024…………………………………….1st November. Our barber Sam is starting his chemotherapy this Tuesday, he doesn’t want a pity or sympathy and is going to work, coach football and crack on with life as best as possible over the next few weeks….he might take the odd few days off here and there. But it’ll be business as usual, but could you please stay away with you have colds, flu or any other bugs because his immune system will, or had, a kicking , or wear a mask if you’re desperate …..
October 2023……………………………………….1st October. Been an amazing move back to Tenby, see a lot more family and old friends and get to spend more time with my beautiful missus and children, game changer!

October 2022……………………………………….23rd October. First three weeks in our new Tenby shop and it’s what we’ve expected plus more, customers old and new with a lot travelling down from Carmarthen, lads I’ve played footy with and against, people we went to school with bringing their children in for trim, even a cheeky beer on a late Friday. ?? So if you want a top trim, listen to great music and have some bad advice book in @big_mels_barbershop
October 2022………………………………………..1st October. Today was my last day working in Big Mel’s Carmarthen, 12 years of travelling up and back daily but we had some great laughs , some awesome staff dos (Madrid for the football ), live music in the shop, made some good friends and worked with a right bunch of c#$ts , but as Big Mels Carmarthen shuts, Big Mels Tenby opens and we can recreate the good times in our home town ….and massive thank you to my bro Joey Del Toro Sarrionandia for giving me this opportunity to be business partners …. we are going to smash this bro

September 2022……………………………….25th September. After 12 years of working in Carmarthen we approach our last week …it’s been a bit emotional leaving especially after cutting someone hair every month for 12 years, you become friends with your clients…….hopefully a lot of you can follow us to Tenby, if not I hope life treats you well ……..but looking forward to the next chapter in our lives in Tenby
