Tenby 2nds had their first away trip of the season and cruised to a 5-1 victory vs Angle AFC....Tenby fell behind to a very dubious early goal, but from then on in it was total football and one way traffic from this young team, with goals from Kurt Sarrionandia, young Billy Evans, James Gardner, Rhys Morgan and Will Malone, plus a man of the match performance from Leo Sarrionandia ... that's 3 out of 3 for the start of the season, the long road to Fishguard next week! Tenby 2nds made the long ( made even longer thanks to Drakeford ) trip to Fishguard yesterday afternoon for their 2nd away game on the bounce .... after a close and hard fought 20 mins Tenby opened the scoring thorough young striker Kurt Sarrionandia, from then on in it was a dominant display of champagne football that wowed the coaches.... I'm sure even the Fishguard supporters were heard clapping at some of the football that was played , Tenby 2nds ended winning 6 -0 , with goals coming from a Kurt Sarrionandia hat trick, Teejay Gardner, midfield maestro Rhys Morgan and from Man of the match Will Malone - Big Mel's Barbershop proud to sponsor Tenby AFC 2nds. - 23rd Sept 2023..
On a rainy and windy Saturday afternoon Tenby 2nds welcomed a strong Milford side to the Clicketts, with the tough conditions, Tenby's free flowing football deserted them, it looked like they had been studying the Rob Page philosophy of football and were 2nd best for large periods, they fell behind to a goal in the first half but 16 year old Billy Evans scored his 2nd of the season ...below par for a lot of the players this week but good performance from Billy Evans, levi Hughes and man of the match Elliot Moorehouse Milford again this week so let right the wrongs! After drawing at home against Milford Utd last week Tenby 2nds hoped for a better scoreline this week as they crossed the bridge to play Milford twice in two weeks .. in a hard fought first half Tenby went ahead though top scorer Rhys Morgan, but Milford were quick to respond and it was all level at half time ...but Tenby regrouped and came out fighting for the 2nd half and Will Malone put Tenby ahead again ...and though grit and determination there was no way Tenby were going home with anything less than 3pts ... Tenby 2nds had a tough away trip down to Monkton 3rds last weekend, Tenby did their usual trick and started the game slow and found themselves 1 nil down within 20 minutes, but this Tenby side love to give their opponents a little glimmer of hope before stepping on the gas and snatching victory. Will Malone equalised 10 minutes before half time with a long shot that caught the keeper out, 5 minutes later he smashed in another from 1 yard out. The second half saw a Rhys Morgan header and Man of the Match Will Malone completed his hat trick for a 4-2 victory, Tenby 2nds still unbeaten this season. After a few weeks with no game Tenby 2nds were back in action against Fishguard 2nds. With the floods gone The Clicketts looked in great condition to play some champagne football and Tenby did not disappoint. It was one way traffic from the start, Fishguard sitting back and trying to make it hard for the home team but midway though first half James Gardner hit a sweet strike from outside the box, Tenby continued to push and just before half time Will Malone doubled Tenby's lead with a quick finish. The 2nd half was much the same with top scorer Rhys Morgan adding another and a neat finish from Kurt Sarrionandia, Darren Gibson then got a brace with two smart finishes and Fishguard got a consolation goal to make it 6-1, plenty of top performances but James Gardner just edged it for man of the match! A cold crisp Saturday afternoon saw Tenby 2nds welcome Camrose 2nds for a top of the table clash ... the game stared pretty frantic and scrappy, Tenby very rusty after only playing once in four weeks but after 25 minutes Tenby's midfield started to get a grip on the game and they had three chances cleared off the line before the end of the half. It was scoreless at half time, but tenby could smell blood and knew if they stepped up the gear they would break the deadlock.... 2 minutes into the 2nd half and top scorer Rhys Morgan fired home after some great work by Leo Sarrionandia... from then on it was one way traffic with Tenby playing some lovely one touch football, captain Cam Ennis scored a brace to make it comfortable for the home side, the 2nd coming from a Beckhamesque free kick from James Gardner There could of been 14 man of the matches due to the performance of everyone but it had to go to captain Cam Ennis. Tenby 2nds went into the Christmas break with an away trip to relegation battlers Milford Ath, Tenby 2nds were looking to go into the new year unbeaten but Milford had other ideas...Milford ripped up the form book and went into a 3 nil lead within 30 minutes with 2 sublime strikes and penalty, the Tenby coaches thought the Grinch had well and truly stole their Christmas, but this young Tenby side have plenty of grit, fight and battle and managed to pull 2 goals back before half time, 2 penalties from Rhys Morgan, the 2nd half was one way traffic and the Milford keeper pulling off some great saves ...with the pitch getting worse and worse, it was becoming unplayable...but then late in game some good work by Kurt Sarrionandia and a fine cross was hit by man of the match Levi Hughes with a fine volley from 25 plus yards out ...that resembled prime Di Canio and has got to be up there for goal of the season .. Tenby continued to push for a winner but we were nearly undone from the last kick of the game ...but stand in keeper Boris the blade saved Tenby blushes and earned them a point ...
